It's really nice to have an extra charger, so you can leave the original at home and take the extra on the go (without constantly have to plug it in, take it out, re-plug it in, take it out). I don't end up needing to use this charger much, but I'm very happy with the purchase. I'm not sure if the charging time is comparable to the original.
