After waiting for a long time - my roots were c. 3” long and pearly, blinding white - I finally decided to colour my own hair today, as I couldn’t look in the mirror anymore, but I am still not confident enough going out Post-lockdown and coming in close contact with people in a salon. Messy and time consuming (as per brilliant advice from a fellow desertcart shopper, best use a kitchen scales to weigh 60g of developer / peroxide once you have squeezed the 60g tube of colour (or half of each tube, as I did) into a bowl) the result was salon-like and my hair is back to “normal”! It has freed me from having to wear a wide Lycra band to cover my badger-like roots during video calls or going for walks. My husband keeps saying that I look 10 years younger (bless...). I should have done it a long time ago (pre-pandemic, I had my roots done every three weeks, but I hadn’t been to a hairdresser since 12 March until doing the colour myself today).
