I have not read the whole book yet even though I am over half way through. First of all Queen mother very much resembles her mother so I am very inclined to think Elizabeth is indeed her daughter not the cooks. Also the Duke of Windsors support of the Nazis is really glossed over and not given the attention it should have been given. It is apparent by the photos that exist of him and Wallis that something was a little less than favorable to British interests. Now I guess I get it that things are never so simple but I think the Queen mother is really getting the shaft in this gossipy rendition of he said and she said testimonial. Do I think she was without ambition? No of course not but this is a really a unkind rendition of her from her unsuitable fashion to her less than perfect figure and smile.
