Cheap copper core plugs designed in the 1910's or the newest, most up to date plug you can get your hands on? I researched the problem. I looked at several brands and several styles from platinum, multi-tip, split-tip and so forth. I've used and thought kindly of the 4-prong plugs. Why did I switch? No particular reason other than I wanted the Iridium core. The spark plugs I removed were NGK. Not surprising as it was a Japanese vehicle. Ergo, back went the best NGK spark plugs I could find. These were well built, installed easily, and made a gratifying difference. Use anti-seize on the threads and spark plug grease on the tip. I expect another 50,000 miles from these plugs. Oh, I also change the spark plug wires when I change plugs. In my experience you can damage a wire just pulling it, or find one abraded from rubbing on a motor part. You are there anyway. Review: Great in a Polaris RZR. - NGK plugs have always had a great reputation. These iridium plugs are even better. I installed on a Polaris RZR 800. I see quicker starts, better idle, and maybe even an increase in horse power. I do recommend careful action to set plug gap. The iridium positive core is very small and might be damaged by efforts to set gap.
