Review: as a stroke survivor of 7 years with clinched hands in a fist. this brace exceeded my expectations, since none of the others worked. This keeps my hand straight and most of all it stays in and doesn't want to clinch up and make a fist. it is very comfortable. Now I am very hopeful I will get my hand somewhat back and crochet. All that I can say I am very happy and hopeful for the future. My hand is in a fist so yes, my husband and i have to fight with the spacisity to get my fingers in place, but once they are in they are not going anywhere. zFor all my stroke survivors just get it and use it every night before your hand gets like mine, be patient to get your fingers in it, nothing is perfect but this brace is perfect as it gets for our needs.

Well made but my occupation therapist advised me to flatten out the palm area and also create a 90 degree angle between the forefinger and thumb. I removed the plastic brace insert by clipping the rear seam and slipping the plastic insert out. I then heated the plastic with a heat gun (hair dryer is not hot enough) and then with a gloved hand I pressed the soft plastic to shape as necessary. More than one heat application my be necessary. NOTE: modified for post DUPRETREN hand surgery.
