It's hard to say for sure if the LEDs are brighter or dimmer than the Halogens and it's hard to say which of the 2 LED Lamps is the brightest. The SuperLED @ 5.5Watts uses 10% more power than the EnergyBrite @ 5.0Watts so I am a little surprised the light levels seem to be the sameThe main difference is the face of the lamps. The SuperLED is covered by glass and the EnergyBrite isn't covered (no glass, it's possible to touch the individual LEDs).I am going to buy more or both lamps. SuperLED lamps for the bathroom and kitchen because I feel more comfortable with the glass covered lamp. EnergyBrite for the spare bedroom & study room as these lamps seem to use less power.EDIT:I have replaced all the halogens in my bathrooms with these lamps and it is now really clear that the halogens were brighter. The light levels are OK for us in the bathrooms but these are not bright enough for the kitchen. I will need to find something brighter for the kitchen. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 12 Volt LEDs *by L***T on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 10 February 2014* These are bright, although not as bright as the 50 Watt lamps they are to replace but then they are flood and not spotlights. The white lamps my be brighter as opposed to the warm white but this is a personal preference. If they are a direct replacement on a single transformer you might have trouble with the wattage being less than the transformer minimum. Having said that I have got them in banks of 3 or 4 of transformers, but the individual 'inrush' current may be insufficient singly. LED electronic transformers would cure the problem, at extra cost of course.If you have a lot of 50 Watt lamps and family who cannot remember to switch them off they might be a cost effective alternative. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Very bright but colour is not as warm *by G***Q on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 4 February 2013* There seem to be lots of differing reviews about these bulbs- and here's another one I'm afraid!Brightness: absolutely as bright as our 50W halogens. Very impressive. However, this comes with a lot of glare from the surface-mounted LEDs- you really don't want to look at these, even from the side, as they are so bright. Normal halogens don't have this problem.Colour: they say warm white, but it's still a fairly stark, cold light. I've bought a few of these, but I'm going to keep looker for a bulb with better colour.(I've seen no flickering, even when trying them out with a dimmer.
