**Q: I have a pair of large pale-coloued softwood garden gates which are now 18 months old and ready to be treated. Is this the right stuff ?**
A: Treat the gate completely with a good quality timber preservative Brands such as Cuprinol or Ronseal Timber care products available at Toolstation, Wickes, B & Q, .These products could be applied manually by  brushes.Double coating could help preserve the wood more

**Q: This this the proper Creosote or the substitution?**
A: No, Creosote is no longer available, this is a substitute. It smells a bit like Creosote. I have used it on new and old fencing, and it seems to be fine. Water runs off it. The colour does come out darker on old fencing. Very runny to apply. Cover up well, use gloves, and worth buying the big thick brush as I did. Hope this all helps.

A: Yes it has a smell similar to creosote but not as strong.

**Q: I've bought a shed which has been "dip treated" in red cedar. Does anyone know what colour it would end up with the light brown or the dark brown?**
A: It ends up a light golden brown.  Not unpleasant
