Sometimes they dry out and my wife sprays them with distilled water. **Q: Does this help get rid of brown stains?** A: My dogs fur around their eyes are darker, so I’m not able to say if it totally removes tear stains. I could see a big difference. I mostly bought because it doesn’t sting the eye itself and it does remove the gunk without pain. I use it for their ears as well and they’ve developed a tolerance to that cleaning. They are just the right size for my 14 lb dog, and they must feel nice since she never acts scared or avoidant when I go get them. Only very minor complaint is that occasionally the wipes will fall out of the gripper part of the top and fall back into the base.
