Made tool. **Q: will this work on .9 thread?** A: This kit is for 5mm . **Q: If the thread id of the helicoil is m8x1.25, so what is the od of that helicoil?** A: You purchase the kit you need depending on the thread type you are attempting to repair. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ It Fixed What I Needed Fixed *by J***N on Reviewed in the United States on 4 November 2024* After I incompetently NUKED the threaded brass threads on a LiFePO4 battery (while POORLY attempting to hook the batteries in series, resulting in welding a brass bolt into the cable lugs...PLASMA!!), I debated between installing a "Helicoil" type repair such as offered by this kit , versus expanding the bolt used from M8 to M10 via drilling/tapping the hole larger.I've still got the M10 tap on order from a large online seller beginning with E and ending with AY. That should show up...ummm....sometime. Being the impatient male of the species, I ordered this kit via overnight Prime delivery.I decided to try a thread insert repair, for the FIRST TIME.It did the job. I used Tapmagic threading/cutting fluid as a lubricant, took my time, and worked the tap in & out to remove chips. No broken taps, no (OK, only just a couple) unhappy words.Minor grumbles: - The kit does not include the dinky hex wrench needed to loosen the setscrew on the tool used to insert the repair thread. Not absolutely necessary, but still handy. - After inserting (screwing in) the threaded insert, the insert GRABBED onto the tool, making it a royal pain to extract. Brute force won out.I chose to use a generic red Loctite-style thread locker to secure the thread repair insert into the repair area.
