They are totally waterproof and hold up very well being washed.The bags come in handy of course when we have dirty items to be washed and I don’t want to have a mess on my hands until the next washing, but also just having wet clothes or gross shoes after an outing where the kids get wet. I have found that keeping these on hand is really convenient every time we leave the house - just in case!I also use one in the kitchen to collect used/wet dishcloths until it’s time to wash.
