It straightened out immediately with no creases. The blue color is a nice deep primary blue as shown, which is what I was looking for instead of the pastel sky blue of many competing products. The silicone is smooth, which feels nicer to my hands and is easier to keep clean than some competing products with molded-in textures, yet is still easy to grip (it's not slippery at all). Due to the nature of these products, I knew it would be challenging to get it installed, but it was still more difficult than I had expected. Since it's not summer anymore, I ran the car heater full-blast while on a 20-30-minute drive home, and held the handbrake cover in front of the vent for most of the way. (During summer, you can just park in the sun and leave it on your dashboard for a while instead.) Then as soon as I got home, I began the installation. After several partial attempts, I eventually got it on by folding the cover halfway-inside-out (doubled over on itself), and then slowly working the doubled-over part back down right-side-out. You'll want to use ungloved fingertips (with trimmed fingernails) to do the turning-right-side-out step, but I wished I had thought to wear gloves for the pulling/twisting/gripping I was doing in other parts of the process, which was unexpectedly hard on my hands' skin. The other thing I wish I had realized beforehand was that the cover was about a half-inch too long for the straight part of my car's handbrake (measure yours carefully), so the furthest it could possibly go on still left a half-inch that I had to carefully trim off.
