They aren’t wildly absorbent, but they’re definitely better than single-lined trainers. For us, they’ve been the perfect in-between step after the bulky cotton training pants and before real big-girl underwear. They’re comfortable, not stiff or thick, and still give a little protection for small accidents without feeling diaper-like. That helped a lot with independence and comfort. They did shrink very slightly after washing, so I’d keep that in mind if you’re between sizes, but it wasn’t enough to be a problem for us.
