This is a large aperture reflector at a price that can’t be beat – start your new backyard astronomy hobby off right with an affordable high-powered scope. This 6-inch reflector boasts a “short tube” design, with a built-in corrector that yields a 1400mm focal length. Get high-powered views and magnifications up to 400x in a manageable package that doesn’t take up tons of space and is ideal for solar, lunar, and planetary observation. Check out all the Moon’s details, the Rings of Saturn, and the Moons of Jupiter. Observe eclipses, sun spots, and solar flares safely from behind the protection of the included .002" high-quality film filter, which blocks 99.999% of sunlight and has an ND5 rating. Also included is an adjustable full-sized aluminum tripod with accessory tray. This scope has an Equatorial Mount, so it can be polar aligned to track the movements of stars and planets. Thanks to precision worm gears and a substantial counter weight, the telescope can be balanced so that the slightest finger touch turn of the flexi cables will move the telescope with a smooth, steady motion. This package comes with two medium power Plossl eyepieces (25mm & 10mm) and a Barlow 2x lens. Because of the standard 1.25” focal tube size, you will easily be able to find additional eyepieces for your collection. Also included is a dust-free cleaning cloth, a map of the surface of the moon, a glare-reducing moon filter, and a poster of the solar system. All reflector telescopes show an upside-down image, so we recommend an optional erector eyepiece for nature and landscape viewing. Because the included paper instructions offer limited guidance, we provide buyers with an online full-color photograph, step-by-step assembly guide so you'll be up and running without having to struggle with a complex assembly diagram.
