Cleaning is super easy and I use boiling water before wiping it. There’s a handy covering to put the probe proper in and this has a clip so you can attach it to your apron so it’s always at hand. These are displayed in an easy to read table and it’s a nice size to fit on your fridge or somewhere in the kitchen, maybe even the oven if it’s metal. Helpfully, for the more cautious out there, there is a column alongside his recommendations with the government guidelines for safe temperatures. My only complaint is how difficult it is to open and insert the battery. The screw used is so small that even my smallest of screwdrivers struggled to open it. This was such a faff and nearly defeated me before even using the product. The products great but this is something to bear in mind if you don’t have a super mini screwdriver. All in all fantastic. Battery is provided, and after a quick look at the instructions it's ready to go. In use it's quick to respond, settling down within a few seconds to indicate the temperature. If not manually turned off, it shuts down itself after a little time to preserve battery. From a quick test with boiling water, it seems to be accurate, and I am now using this a lot to prevent the "let's leave it for another few minutes to be sure" situation, especially when it comes to chicken. I can't say if it's any better than other cheaper devices, but I'm glad I spent the extra to get a named brand device.
