They're very soft and feel great on the skin. The only thing that I would definitely be happier with as if they were thicker. These aren't thin, but I have some other flannel sheets (different brand) that are called Extra Chunky. As with anything else nowadays things change, manufacturers start making things cheaper to cut back on costs, leaving the consumers with paying more for less. Things just aren't made as well as they used to be. I would definitely recommend this product and I'm sure that I will purchase more of these.I have a CK Temper Pedic pillow top mattress that is very deep, and these sheets fit perfectly after washing and drying. I expected them to shrink from reading other reviews, but that was not the case at all! I'm happy to say that they haven't pilled as others have said. The sheets are beautiful, soft, cozy and warm in the colder month's. My only regret is not ordering more of these during the summer when the price was a lot cheaper. I still highly recommend these sheets, as you can't go wrong with this product.*Update 11/27/15*Got these out about a month ago for the cold chilly nights, and these sheets are just as comfy and warm as when I first purchased them. Soft and thick. During the summer they were all that we needed, sometimes too warm, even on their own. The blue color is deep and rich. Some reviewers have complained about the amount of lint that they give up in the dryer, but I have not found it to be more than any other flannel sheets I've owned. Flannel sheets always give up lint--for a long time, not just the first few washes. I think if you hang them to dry outdoors, these sheets might feel stiff, because of their thickness, and also air-dried lint might be an issue when you're sleeping on them. The dryer takes care of the lint. Environmentally not so good, of course.... We have a deep mattress and the fitted sheet is deep, and the corners have been sturdy, and sheet fits tight and smooth after many washings. My one complaint might be that the top sheet could be a bit longer. My original review was deleted.Update: After the second winter season of using these, they are still as soft (if not softer) as they were when new. They haven't pilled or thinned anywhere and the seams and elastic are intact and like new. I can't say enough positive things about these sheets. I've never had problems with any of mine and have purchased cream, chamois, and green colored sets. Just my thoughts in trying to reason why some had these problems when I never have.
