Is this a 300w or 210w transformer** A: The “Maximum load 70%” means the total lighting fixture load should not exceed 70% of transformer wattage (total lighting fixture wattage <= 70% transformer wattage). It is because there is voltage loss along the wire. The voltage loss depends on lighting fixture load, wire gauge, and wire distance between transformer and lighting fixtures. If the wire distance is shorter than 200 feet, the maximum load on the lighting fixture can be higher than 70% (for example, 80%, 90%...). If you install the photocell and timer (Mechanical Timer: B079B2TNMR) (Digital Timer: B01N9T3TLW) on our multi-tap Low Voltage Transformer, the photocell can turn on the power at dusk and the timer can be used to turn it on/off at the appointed time set by the timer. When it is bright, the power will automatically be turned off by the photocell regardless of the timer setting. Following is an example of the situation. Use a timer and set the turn-on time for late evening, while it is still light. Perhaps 4:00 PM. Set timer off time after dark at 10:00 PM. This way will turn on lights at dusk when triggered by photocell. The timer should already be on. Photocell will continue in 'on' mode, until the timer goes into 'off' mode (at 10:00 PM), turning lights off. **Q: Can this unit be mounted onto wood siding?** A: If the wood is sturdy enough, should be no problem. I mounted the unit on a stucco exterior and it worked fine. Would be a good idea to find a stud if possible. **Q: What is the maximum output amperage?** A: The correct answer is 2.5 amps. The formula to convert watts to amps is: I=P/E so 300W/120V= 2.5A. This is assuming you have maxed out the transformer at 100%, drawing the full 300W. You could connect two of these transformers to one standard 15A electrical outlet.
