It was a little smaller than I wanted, but didn't fit to snugly. (In the photo, my ear is naturally folded like that, it's not the ring.) I have no problem opening and closing it. This is the first ring I've put in (my piercing is 2mos old) and I felt like the stiff hinge would ensure that it doesn't pop open. I ordered the 16g 12mm -which is a little too big diameter wise, but it still looks good. For me, I was able to get it open and in my septum in under a minute. I guess I just got lucky with this one, but I would suggest if you haven't already, googling different ways to get a difficult clicker open. I did notice that the hinge of this was kinda sticking in a way. I have another clicker that swings open fluidly but this wasn't like that. With that said, the size and everything else was perfect for me, and their shipping is good. It shipped on the 21st and I got it on the 25th going from CA to MD.
