Within an hour he had installed Minimserver on the PC, Lin Kazoo on my tablet, and BubbleUPnP on an old tablet connected to the stereo. Wonderful, but the old tablet died soon after he left. I searched for a dedicated renderer and ordered the Raidsonic MP401 (which was delivered very promptly). It does not work out of the box but the setup requirements are few and you just need to follow the documentation sheet slavishly to connect to it as an access point and get it to recognise your WiFi hub. It was not using the Openhome extension standard so I had to replace Linn Kazoo with BubbleUPnp on my tablet. Since then it has worked flawlessly despite being in a room with poor WiFi signal. The device is small, neat, and inexpensive. Can't enter a blank, so I couldn't even connect to it to set it up. Tried to email and tweet their support and got nothing back.
