Both chipsets offer support for 10g/2.5g/1g/100m, as well as sr-iov and other features that might not be found in home-user targeted nics. I had went with this over the X550-T2 just because of its age and it being more likely to see driver updates further into the future along with its intended use in a QNAP NAS. That said the X550-T2 based cards also work great and can be found for pretty cheap. If I were looking for a 2.5g lan nic, I'd go this route over the Intel i225 based cards which have had some issues as well as features being removed for some OSs (RSS is disabled for most versions of the chipset depending on OS).
