I will admit that I was cooking acidic foods (diced tomatoes and tomato soup) but this reaction should not have happened. I checked the pan and it looks perfect. No scratches. I reached out to Hestan twice for any explanation or advice but have received no response. I will update if I receive any further information from Hestan. The other items in the set function perfectly. Review: I am enjoying this cookware and so far it is performing well for me. Great nonstick surface and easy to clean. Most nonstick pans I have used have been disappointing when cooking meat. Not this pan. You can actually get a good sear and color in your steaks and chops. Quality craftmanship with comfortable handles, good surface area and really like that the nonstick is PFOA free. They say this cookware is more durable and long lasting then typical nonstick. I guess time will tell but so far these pans are working as advertised.
