Will support a good bit of gear. - I purchased these to try along side a regular stretch style construction suspender with clips that hook on to my belt, since I wasn't really sure which would work best and both were affordable. The purpose was when I am working on my deer lease, I often have large machete's, pruning saw and shears, or an axe and maybe a revolver hooked to my belt on the right side. I notice after awhile with any of these items my belt and pants really start to sag on that side. This is even with a top quality no stretch work belt. In all honesty, this suspender set was so good, it's really overkill for what I need it to do. One drawback with hooking it to my belt is that the shoulder straps are heavy nylon and they have no elastic stretch like regular suspenders for when you are standing then sitting. So they do pull tight some when going to a sitting position. The padded straps are nice and do add some comfort. The buckles (swivel snaps) that attach to the belt keepers were steel and are way heavier than I need for my use. What else I found fantastic was that they sent 4 each of 2 types of keepers. One set that attaches around a duty belt with velcro and has plastic D-rings and another set that attaches around a duty belt with steel snap buttons and has steel D-rings. Either way, this is great for a military type guard belt or a police outer duty belt. It's most likely overkill for what I need, but that is no fault of the product at all. I can easily give this 5 stars based on my initial experience and even if I were going to use it a lot it looks like it should easily hold up. Be aware for you older guys with back problems (me) hanging any gear supported over the shoulders does put a strain on the lower spine from vertebral compression and you will feel it later on after wearing this to support any weight. But if the belt keeps slipping with gear, this will support it. A fantastic set of suspenders for heavier gear and healthier backs.
