Not only do these chewable taste great, they help me hit my daily potassium intake! Did you know adult men require approximately 3,400mg and adult women require about 2,600mg a day! These are essential for people working in the hot sun all day, or on psych meds that drop potassium levels and make you feel dizzy in hot and humid weather. Other drugs that may decrease potassium include: Insulin. Sodium polystyrene sulfonate, a treatment for hyperkalemia. Mannitol (can cause both hypokalemia and hyperkalemia) Glucocorticoids like prednisone. Mineralocorticoids like fludrocortisone. Anti-infectives (such as amphotericin and high-dose penicillin).
