So... for bedtime I use Avalon Organics lavender body lotion and I thoroughly apply on my heels and in between toes (because dry heels can sometimes harbor fungi). Then I apply the first coat of this product. It's very thin and dries relatively quickly. By the time I finish 1 foot the other is dry, so I apply a 2nd coat and then repeat a 3rd time. This really lets the product saturate thoroughly into the nail. Takes no more than a couple minutes, so even when I'm really tired I'm still able to be consistent because it dries so quick. Once a week I use a coarse nail file to file the top of the nail and the edges. Doing only these steps I began to see a difference in just days! I've also tried to be more diligent in taking my biotin and multi vitamins but sometimes I forget. But I always do the foot routine. Even in the morning I apply it and then do my normal morning routine since it dries so quick! I did go away on vacation and forgot to take with me so I ordered another bottle to my vacation spot! If I neglect it more than a couple of treatments in a row I can see and feel the infection return, so it's important to stay consistent. Any of these topical tinctures are temporary and cosmetic relief. This one has been working very well but once you have these conditions and they get into the matrix (under the nail) it’s about getting the tincture to permeate through the nail where nail polish creates a barrier preventing tincture from doing so. Pediatrists always tell us that the solution is oral medication which requires labs (liver panel as the medication is metabolized by and can be taxing on the liver) and a prescription. This product and other tinctures have worked great to clear up the nail and prevent clouding as well as softening the nail and nail Ed to promote healing. I will say of the three tinctures I’ve tried this one yields quick results but has an unfortunate vinegar smell to it during application. For any tincture to work they have to be applied regularly and of course once the regiment stops the problem will resume.
