The last time I replaced one was about 15 years ago and I only decided to retire my last one was because the charging lead was a bit frayed and the blades needed replacing. Bought this one at a reduced price, and it probably cost me half of what my last one did, taking inflation into account. And obviously, it’s better. It’s lighter, it’s waterproof (great for cleaning out the blades) and it charges with a USB connection, so no need for a separate charger. And it shaves brilliantly, comfortably, and quickly. So what don’t you get? You don’t get a little carry case, so it’s going to be easy to lose the plastic blade cover, particularly if, like me, you travel a lot. But the main reason I’ve given it four stars and not five is this: If you’re going to use a USB connection for charging, then why still have the same two-pin connection to the shaver at the other end of the cable? Why not use a USB-C? I'm old school and I still use soap, brush and straight razor. I'm also of a vintage.... and with age, comes a degree of laziness dressed up as convenience. I've always found shaving a pain, but I'm lucky enough not to need to shave every day. I still work full time and need to be presentable at meetings, so shaving is still essential. I love this razor. I bought it on a whim, but it's so conveniently helpful. As long as stubble isn't too long, I can be done in minutes. It's easy to clean, easy to charge, and gives a really close shave. You can also use to wet shave, though I haven't tried. The battery lasts all week. Spares are easy to get hold of, and I got it at a discount on the shaver. I have not experienced any of the issues in the negative reviews, but will keep an eye on battery life. All in all, it's an awesome product.
