No, the Jettle Heats in 5 degree increments 40-90, using the left hand button, and to boil directly you would use the right hand button for 100C. We did not include 95 as a setting due to it being so close to boiling there is no use for it. Hope that helps! I assume the lid is there to prevent boil-over.
