It is soft and seems as if it will be warm. Too much of a hassle to keep returning things, so I’m keeping it. They say colours of products may vary, but it is NOT light grey. I ordered it for a king size bed which has a deep matress - but the colour is too dark and dull for that room, so it will go on the spare 4 foot bed, maybe with another throw on top of it. Haven’t washed it yet, so can’t comment on that. At present it’s draped over an armchair that my cat sits on! Cat seems to like it. It did arrive fairly promptly. It has NO SHINE AT ALL - it is a matt, dull colour. In another colour, it would be useful to someone needing a LARGE throw. I ordered abother throw, not so big, from another seller in a pale colour, intended for the spare bed - it turned out to be cream coloured, with a beautiful shine, so that is now on my bed. The grey one I bought here is a more practical colour for a cat with black fur to sit on, and it’s useful that it’s large. I am confused that some reviews say it’s thin? The grey is a dull colour. So unless you actually want dark grey, I suggest buy it in a different colour. Only 3 stars because I wanted a lighter colour. A friend who liked the blanket phoned me to say she had got hers cheaper only to find she hadn't read the description properly. Why hadn't I warned her.....................The blanket is very soft to the touch and the perfect size according to the various children I find rolled up in it. My wife has had to repossess it on a number of occasions. It seems well made and is in daily use, sometimes under testing conditions (see 'children' above). It washes well and retains its shape. It still feels the same as when it was just out the box (well, bag actually)A great buy a few pounds more than many on Amazon but well worth it.
