She has mediterranean type skin with thick black hair, so a perfect match for IPL. It really does work, but it takes time, easily 6-12 months for results so you need to be patient, but once it starts working, it keeps on working. My wife hasn’t tried this machine yet, so i thought i would try it, just doing the setup and test patch. You need to download the app and register your IPL’s serial number, but it is very quick and easy with the minimum of questions. My skin and hair colour, brown hair with light skin also perfectly suited IPL. The machine gets you to do a two flash test patch. The flashes are intense and just feel very hot against the skin for a split second, it’s not uncomfortable and doesn’t hurt. You do the test flashes once you’ve selected your hair colour and the machine has analysed your skin tone for the correct settings, you the wait 15mins and it asks you if there is any redness, which there wasn’t for me. What i did get though was what looked like red tread veins under the skin which certainly weren’t there before. No big deal as not in a conspicuous place, but i’d be nervous of using the machine further at this point. Hopefully they will disappear over the coming days. The machine feels very nicely made, as you would expect from Braun. You also get a nice, soft storage case to keep everything in. The handset has a kind of laptop style power supply you need to plug in. The unit is comfortable to use, but is quite noisy in use as it has a small, but quite intense little fan in the head to keep it cool. I’m glad to have had the opportunity to try such a high range machine but would struggle to part with nearly £500 in real life to own one, that’s a lot of money. But we have spent in the hundreds on a machine in the distant past and my wife certainly got the benefit.
