Its a good, solid tool. **Q: Would this work for joining two pieces of 3/16" flat? Suggestions if not?** A: You would need an awfully long rivet. When the window on my '85 Corvette stopped going up or down I found out that I would need 2 rivets to replace the ribbon. First placed I looked for a rivet gun was on Amazon and purchased this one after reading several of the reviews. I have several other Stanley products and they are all good quality so I expected this to be equally as good. Without any prior knowledge about riveting I installed the 2 needed for this job the first time. The riveter worked perfectly, exactly as described.
