TotalBoat Aluminum Boat Paint is a fast-drying, one-part polyurethane coating designed specifically for aluminum and galvanized metal boats. It offers superior corrosion resistance, UV protection, and abrasion durability with a low-sheen, camo-ready finish. Environmentally friendly with low VOCs and easy cleanup, it applies easily by brush, roller, or spray and is suitable for use above or below the waterline on a variety of boat types and outdoor equipment.

## Description

TotalBoat Aluminum Boat Paint boasts a completely updated formula for finishes that stick and hold up better than what you've been using on aluminum and galvanized metal boats. This marine paint is specifically made for aluminum hulls on your jon boat, duck boat, flat bottom boat, bass boat, canoe, dinghy, pontoon boat, trailers, houseboat, and other galvanized metal boats or boat parts, like railings and spars. It also comes in camo colors you can apply one layer at a time or mix together for custom camouflage patterns. Protect and conceal duck and hunting blinds, tree stands, ladders, ATVs, boat trailers, and more. Etch washing aluminum before painting removes surface oxidation and improves paint adhesion, but this paint does not require any kind of primer to stick. Updated formula means it adheres better to clean metal. No more finish peeling or lifting. Use a brush, roller, or spray gun to easily apply this water-based polyurethane to prepared substrates. You'll also finish faster because Aluminum Boat paint dries extremely fast. At 72 degrees F, it's ready to overcoat, with no sanding between coats. Before the final coat, wait 12 hours, sand lightly and remove residue. Let the final coat dry for 48 hours, and you're ready to put the boat in the water. Chromate-free finish has a low VOC content of 75 g/L, very little odor, and cleans up easily with soap and water. TotalBoat Aluminum Boat Paint can be used above or below the waterline on boats used in fresh or saltwater. Review: Great Paint - First my rant: There is no excuse for shipping paint in cans like this and by reading the reviews here, I'm not the only one who receive damaged cans. Do Better ! 14' x 36" bottom Jon boat painted inside and out. The paint is very good and applies easily. I prepped the boat and applied 3 coats of aluminum primer. Then applied 3 coats of the Total Boat paint. 2nd coat will be even in color. I used a roller on large areas and and a good brush in tight areas. Paint applies evenly and levels itself out very shortly after applying. One gal did the coat with a little left over. I did not cut it as it goes a long way. Color is more of a "stone" but it looks good and departs from the old Jon boat green or tan. Time will tell on durability but with 3 coats of primer and 3 coats of paint I'm expecting good results.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: How do I apply the paint on a 15 foot aluminum boat.**
A: I personally sprayed it using a siphon feed latex gun and am extremely pleased with the results. It can also be brushed or rolled on. I HIGHLY recommend taking the time to scuf the aluminum with 50-100 grit sandpaper using any tools you may have or by hand. The primer will adhere to the metal much easier and will last much longer.

**Q: Can this paint be used as a bottom paint (Outside bottom under water)?**
A: Yes

**Q: Box was left at door and sat over night in 20 degree weather. Label notes "not allow to freeze". I opened and was not visibly frozen. Good?**
A: Visibly check it for changes.  Will it mix?
If so use it.
It is good paint, I have some left over in my shop from a boat project and I would not be afraid to us it as long as it blends together.

**Q: what color is for tracker boats? Olive drab?**

First my rant: There is no excuse for shipping paint in cans like this and by reading the reviews here, I'm not the only one who receive damaged cans. Do Better ! 14' x 36" bottom Jon boat painted inside and out. The paint is very good and applies easily. I prepped the boat and applied 3 coats of aluminum primer. Then applied 3 coats of the Total Boat paint. 2nd coat will be even in color. I used a roller on large areas and and a good brush in tight areas. Absolute garbage. Painted my aluminum boat with 5 coats and paint pealed off the next day. Grinded the whole boat down then sanded completely with 220 with an orbital sander and painted it again. Paint pealed off the next day again. The label says for best results buy our additional $60 product ”etch” . What it should say is if you do not use our etch product this paint will not stick to anything. Manufacturer should be arrested and put in jail for negligence, racketeering, fraud, theft, false advertising, and general incompetence! Product is absolute garbage. Do not buy! I'd like my $240 back. I'd like to be compensated for the 20 hours of my life that I burned screwing around with this garbage, and id like for my boat to be painted with a product that doesn't suck- no stars-
