Some assembly was required, but it was minimal, 10 minutes at most. The build quality is great with nothing lacking on the components. The only negative I've found is that is difficult to align the 1 lb cylinders into the bottom connection. I've started using a 1 lb to 20 lb hose to make that easier. Still need to be careful when folding the grill so that the hose is not obstructing anything on the fold up system, but it can stay attached when folded. Heat up time are quick with the smaller dome lid. I've cooked for groups of 6-8 with the Traveler, plenty of grill space. The grill grates are well made and clean up well. I bought an aftermarket griddle (half coverage) and have been pleased with that as an option. The hinged lid doesn't close all the way with the griddle plate however, so you can't put in a folded close position with the griddle in place.
