It hasn't disappointed. After a month, he's still playing with it every day and even takes it to bed with him. So for him, it's more of a toy than a money box, which is probably a good thing since the coin compartment is quite small. The panel for this compartment is quite stiff at first and not attached so my boy lost it...then found it again, happily! Also, it doesn't make the creepy sounds that we'd seen in the video - only a mechanical whirring - when it eats up the coins, but this doesn't bother my boy.
