I put this ram in a 21.5" iMac from late 2009. The system we had only came with 4gb installed and two empty slots. Do directions at all but was able to to figure it out. Lay iMac face down on table, unplugged of course, and remove 3 small phillips screws holding a vent plate on the middle of the edge. The only thing visible was the two empty slots, the two filled slots, and years of dust. Used air to remove dust, placed ram in bottom to slots. Buttoned everything back up. Easy as could be. Noticed a speed increase quickly. I was going to bite the bullet and buy the new iMac Pro but before shelling out $5k+ I thought I'd give this a shot, and wow, am I glad I did! For $50 I doubled the memory to 8GB and it's like having a new computer, Chrome, Photoshop, and Bridge can be open at the same time and run perfectly. Easy to install, too, took me 5 minutes.
