Got these to ensure the kids aren't trying to get out on the balconies unattended. The stick is great, I have one side on the glass to the door/window and the other stuck to the door/window frame. They don't budge. Its easy to set and change the codes. I figured I'd try my luck and order it anyway. Luck was not on my side. As soon as I set the combo on all 4, one refused to open. Glad I didn't stick it to anything before double checking. I wasn't overly upset because I'd already read that typically only 3 out of 4 worked. Okay. Cool. So I get the other 3 where I want them.The next morning, I wake up to my house being shaken down. I come down the stairs and my autistic son (then 8) was visibly upset. He couldn't get into the fridge (he overeats, sneaks food, etc.), and had yoinked on the cable part several times, so hard he shook the fridge away from the wall. Like when you're trying to get a stuck candy-bar out of the vending machine so you rage shake the bejesus out of it. He's very tall and very strong for 8. Needless to say, he broke it and now you can just pull the cable from the lock whether the lock is engaged or not. This wouldn't be an issue if I had that extra 4th lock I paid for...buuuut...it didn't work, remember?The moral of the story? Trust the reviews.Pro-Tip: If you have to remove/reposition either of the plastic parts, the glue/adhesive on the back is not repositionable. Use a butterknife so you don't damage your walls.
