Then I trashed the little pre filter that comes with this, I felt it had large pores which let a lot through, and I got the Fluval Phosphate filters, and I cut them to size and put them as the pre filter, I think it makes it one of the most efficient filters I've ever had, and it SUPER QUITE I love that if I keep it just slightly above the water as it sprays from the long attachment it creates some bubbles, enough that my guppies are super happy, which is good because typically bubblers are very loud.
