Last night, in response to your question, I used one of the aforementioned patches and a 50 caliber lead ball and lightly tapped the patched ball in a 50 caliber barrel and it was readily inserted. Much excess patch was evident so you'll have to cut that off like the old frontiersman. HTH **Q: What is the size of these patches? Assuming (from the package) they're sized for .223, do you also sell a larger size for 12 gauge?** A: I haven't tried it but I plan on ordering the 2" patches and I'll be cleaning my 12 gauge with it after quail season (and .308 after deer season).
