It's stimulating! It grabs your attention and sings to you in Chinese (I believe). For the price, it's a fun gift. It needs a lot of room on a flat surface to really perform. The lights a flashing and the arms and legs going up and down is really cute. It got a lot of laughs. He likes transformers and robots. He was jumping happily while we saw the Robot dancing with a song.It was kind of cute to watch the robo dancing. The colors are cute too when it lights up. The only improvement I would suggest it to give a volume control button. My two year old nephew who I bought it for hates it. It's extremely loud and has no way the quiet it. Even after taping up the speaker in the back to muffle it the music is extremely loud. It also doesn't want to stand up I have let it run on hardwood, tile, and berber carpet no matter what surface the robot is on it will eventually fall over which frightens the bejesus out of him. So while I a 31 year old adult think it is cool I especially love the spinning light bar on top of the robot.
