I felt a bit silly carrying this about. It's tip and sip design is gimiky. I never use it. I thought the function to seal it over was great for in car use and transportation etc. but actually it still leaks even when I lock it. The inside is also plastic. I was really wanting a stainless steel inside and thought from the description that this might be. As it is plastic my coffee tastes pretty bad. You can taste the plastic. The seal on the lid does work but I'm not sure for how long as the plastic ring seems to have stretched. I have had a number of these types of mugs now and none of them don't leak. So far I have not had a coffee that I didn't enjoy to the last mouthful, even after an hour.I had noticed that the reviews for the 2013 version seemed to suggest that they leaked worse than the 2012 model I chose but as I did not purchase as a travel mug I was not unduly concerned, however if the leakproofness of this version is anything to go by, I cant imagine how bad the 2013 one is! That aside there is no plastic taste I associate with thermos type containers and I use it every day.
