It's even better to read it and find that it's quite good. This is definitely a labour of love from the author, a Waterford United fan. Over the course of a season he travelled to matches in all the LOI grounds. He uses this as a starting point for a chapter on each club, giving a comprehensive history of each of them as well as ground details. There is some great detail in each chapter. He has obviously read an enormous amount about the league and talked to people with a lot of knowledge of each club.There are also some great photographs reminding us of the great players who have played in the league.There is a separate chapter on the (many) clubs who are no longer in the league.It is typical of the sometimes chaotic history of the league that even since this book was published in 2011, Salthill, Mervue and Monaghan have left the league, Galway Utd have left and returned and Cabinteely have joined.One small complaint is that the book could do with a list of the trophy winners for each season.
