## Description

Eagle Creek Expanse Upright 26 - A durable and lightweight upright bag, the Expanse 26 features grab handles throughout for easy access. The sleek design isn’t hindered by external lash points for attaching gear. Lockable zippers are all connected to a central lock point for an added level of security. Since we never know exactly what we might bring home from our adventures, an expansion zipper can be utilized for when you need that extra packing space. Bag dimensions: 16.75 x 26 x 12.25 in | 8 lbs 10 oz

Review: Expanse vs Tarmac - My wife got a 28” Tarmac; I got a 26” Expanse (with a very nice discount available on the gray color). The key difference between these two lines is the outside pocket(s) - Tarmac has two; Expanse has one. My wife likes the two pockets so she can store her power cords, chargers, books, sweaters etc. in the outside pockets. I wanted a single large pocket to hold a suit and dress shirts in a small garment bag. The larger Tarmac has plastic support panels on the back, top and bottom sides. My smaller Expanse has good support panels on the back and bottom and a thinner support panel on the top. The top and bottom support panels wrap around the sides to provide corner protection and there aren’t any plastic panels on about 2/3 of the sides. Lastly, the Tarmac has two small interior mesh pockets; the Expanse doesn’t have any. I like the design of the Expanse. In both cases, we chose the two-wheeled versions. While not as maneuverable as the 4 wheeled versions on smooth ground, they will work better on uneven ground (like cobble stone streets) and stairs and I think hold more weight. The material is a type of ripstop but doesn’t appear as durable as Cordura nylon often used on backpacks. This and the lack of plastic side supports makes me wonder about its durability. Offsetting this concern somewhat is Eagle Creek’s forever guarantee. Others have noted shortness of the internal straps. Mine expand to hold about 80% of the contents. This is fine with me as I’d like to have my contents kept away from the outside pocket to minimize wrinkles in my suit and dress shirt. Overall, this is roomy, light weight checked luggage with an expansion option if you buy souvenirs along the way. The only thing I would change is add plastic support panels on the sides, similar to the Tarmac.
Review: Love this suitcase! - Love this suitcase! We travel a lot usually for two weeks at a time and like to travel as lightly as possible. This bag is slightly bigger than a carry-on but is light and durable and expands if needed.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Love this suitcase!
*by Y***T on January 27, 2018*

Love this suitcase! We travel a lot usually for two weeks at a time and like to travel as lightly as possible. This bag is slightly bigger than a carry-on but is light and durable and expands if needed.

### ⭐⭐⭐ Poorly re-designed internal straps.
*by D***T on June 24, 2018*

I really like Eagle Creek luggage based upon previous purchases. I recently bought 2 of the 26" Expanse Uprights and found the suitcase itself lightweight and durable for travel, but they have changed the internal strapping which holds you clothes in place. The straps are way too short to tie down a suitcase full of clothes. I'm not sure if you are supposed to only tie down the first half of your clothing and then place the rest on top of the ties or what. The straps are too short and can only hold down a portion of your clothes. I had to buy strap extenders to provide enough length to secure a full suitcase of clothes. Very poor redesign of internal straps.
