It was called simply that, hair cleansing cream so long ago. Now they call it Maniac but it is the exact same stuff. I know this from its fragrant smell and mostly for the way my hair feels after using it. This shampoo is the only shampoo to have been able to completely clean my hair. Other brands tend to leave residues on hair which I can feel. The 33.8 oz bottle would last a family for a couple of months easily but because I leave my hair short and I am a blond person (blond hair is thin generally) this bottle could last me years. I only need a pea sized drop of shampoo to create the coverage I've come to expect. Five stars. Simply the best shampoo ever. Hands down. If you are considering the price of this product in this sized container in comparison to other brands shampoo in similar sizes, I urge you to buy this. You will never go back to your brand, I don't care which one it is. Enjoy how your hair feels. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This works and I can immediately feel the results! *by D***S on June 6, 2018* Redken Clean Maniac Hair Cleansing Cream is the same as the white bottle Redken Cleansing Cream Shampoo but with a fancy new label and name. The ingredients are the same and it works and smells the same. I've included pictures of the old bottle and new bottle with my review. I really like Redken Cleansing Cream Shampoo both the old and new, they work the same to me. I use it a couple times a week although it may be too much for some people to use that often; it is entirely dependent on your hair type and how much buildup you have. I leave it on for 4-5 minutes and it strips out all the oils, product, and dirt. Also I have very hard water and this shampoo also cleans that out too- that's a big plus! The scent is a very light and tolerable citrus, nothing strong. This shampoo will strip the oils so you might want to supplement your hair with a salon quality leave-in conditioner or spray. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ LIFESAVER! *by B***E on December 30, 2018* My daughter and I both have greasy scalp. I have fine hair with dry ends. She has very thick hair that produces a lot of oil. I found a youtube video suggesting the use of this shampoo and then your normal healthy shampoo and conditioning routine (Redken, Joico, etc). She did it to be able to only wash her hair twice a week. My daughter and I do it EVERY day. I just use a little bit on the scalp, rinse and shampoo and condition. My daughter uses a healthy amount of this shampoo and then Sally's version of Paul Mitchell Tea Tree shampoo--no conditoner.
