Review: The Castrol GTX High Mileage 5W-20 Synthetic Blend works good in my old Ford 5.4 engine with over 300,000 miles on it. It helps keep the engine clean on the inside and running smoothly. It burns about a half quart between changes now which isn't bad at all for the mileage on the engine and the towing it's done. I used Castrol Full Synthetic 5w-20 in the engine till it reached 200,000 miles then switched to this synthetic blend high mileage oil.

**Q: What is the shell life of motor oil**
A: If it does sit for a few months make sure you shake the bottle well the night or day before the oil change so as to mix up the additive pack that might have settled while sitting and waiting. It suspends well for a month or 2 but after that the add pack might end up at the bottom of the bottle and that wouldn't be good. You really want those additives working in your engine.

**Q: how long time that oil last for chevrolet cobalt lt 2009 has 130.000 miles ?**
A: I have a 2009 Cobalt. I change my oil when the indicator comes up on the dash. Usually within the time frame of 5 -1 % of life left. My Cobalt has almost 200,000 miles on it. The computer actually knows when the oil needs changed. How? The computer calculates the length of time the car runs, temperatures the car is exposed and more. In effect, the computer knows when the oil is losing it's level of viscosity. Viscosity = Sticky. Oil needs to be sticky to cling to the internal parts of the engine. Again, oil must be sticky to be protect the engine. Trust me, the car's computer knows. The only way the car doesn't know is if you don't start it and or you don't drive it.  In that case, you would need to change the oil far more often.  The worst effect any engine deals with is not being run. Second worst is starting the car and not allowing the engine to reach normal operating temperatures. Start the car and drive it. Doing so causes the moisture in the oil to be burned off. Moisture in the crankcase causes internal rust. Internal rust can damage the crank bearings. I have 4 GM cars. They all have high mileage. Let the car tell you when to change the oil. Btw, I use this oil in all my cars. It's among the best.
