It was very tight to get over the fixture, but fit great once it was over. I almost thought that I would have to cut the top frame wire on it to get it over the fixture, but it did slide over with a little push.It seems to be the right size to cover the CHE and fixture without hanging down too far where the skink can climb on it. The spring closed door makes it easy to change the CHE or light when needed. It gets warm, but not hot. Once screwed into the top of the enclosure, it is very secure. I am very pleased with this product and will purchase another. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amwesome light guard! *by R***I on January 19, 2019* Thise is amazing. Great size and looks good in the enclosure. I would however mesure the fixture you are putting it over just to be sure. Also, I would recommend a screwdriver, drill, drill bits, I pre drilled holes then screwed everything in. It was easier that way in my opinion. There are also some pieces on the back you might have to push down with a flat head, as they a sharp and might stick out. It was easy enough to do and I HIGHLY RECCOMED this for your snake/lizard enclosure. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Overall a good heat guard. But with one flaw. *by T***. on November 29, 2018* Over the years I've used many heating products for various reptiles I have kept. One of the more effective ways to heat the ambient for an enclosure is to use a heat light, or heat emitter. When using a heat bulb/emitter you absolutely need to protect the animals from being able to directly contact the heat source. I've usually built my own heat guards, but with the increase in the cost of materials I felt I'd give a premade one a try. This one is pretty well built, feels sturdy and should do a good job. The one down side I'm finding with it is where the seam meets for the material that makes up the body. The ends were not flush trimmed resulting in small bits of wire that protrude, this can result in damage to the animals when they are exploring and investigating the heat shroud. This is easy enough to fix though by bending the tongs inward or by snipping them off with wire cutters. Other than that small issue I'm pretty impressed with the solid feel of this heat shroud.Update. I ordered a 2nd one and this one isn't quite as well made as the first. There is a couple misalignments of the mesh, and a spot where there is a hole about the size of a #2 pencil. It wouldn't be a big deal but it is fairly jagged.
