It has a bit too much give. It could be used for muscle knotes yet it is not ideal for it since it should be firmer.You should have also a firmer rubber ball.Yet since it is not rubber but polyurethan it is much safer and longer lasting as an only muscles relief ball . This is the upside. It also does not grease out.I do recomendc it as a less firmer version for muscle relief ( you have to squeeze it stronger to the muscle ) and also get a regular rubber lacrosse ball for firmer sensetion and easier muscle relief.I am talking here only about it's function as muscle relief device by applying pressure directly on muscles - back , neck , shoulders ...all body .
