It may be my imagination, or just the quality of the awesome FOGO charcoal I use, but I swear the Kick Ash makes my lump charcoal last longer. Once completely cool (next DAY for my Big Green Egg), take out the basket shake it over your garden or stone drive way and your good for the next cook. You'l be amazed at the small amount of ash, since the combustion process is so much more efficient with the basket. I think you will like this. VERY well crafted piece and good looking piece of stainless steel with quality stainless steel welds. Clearly a high quality with attention to detail.
