These did a small kettle with two mugs of water and mostly cooked some scrambled egg (1). I tried 4 mugs at one time and it got it more than warm but not boiling, so 2 + something else is probably good per tab. This is enough to boil some water or to reheat cooked food. They are easy to use, clean and, apart from a faint fishy smell, they do not make any smoke. They have been a revelation for me.
