Relatively thin but it will definitely provide protection against bumps and bangs better than the bare lens itself. Smooth cloth exterior, rubbery interior, nice grip.The covers are certainly a tight fit as they need to be to function without slipping. It took about 10-minutes to install. I rolled the edge back to get some grip to help pull the covers on. One piece needed some help from a thin wooden pencil slipped behind to break the tension. Never did it feel like I was over stressing anything. Take your time and with a few breaks, it will eventually slide on with pulling. You have to carefully eye in the opening so use look as you pull and start over if needed.The segment have enough gap between them to allow zoom and manual focus to work smoothly.The price is high for what get but the lens was very expensive so what are you going to do?The thinness of this product provides good tactile feel. Thicker neoprene would not have worked for me.

if your not familiar with rolanpro, they are a very solid product....i've bought several over the years for my other lenses, way better then lens coat. they can be a bit difficult to install at first, but once they are on, your lens will be protected for years....i do highly recommend this product, you wont be disappointed.

It appears they decided to do away with elastic in the material. Really hard to put the cover on. I was so worried that I will break/crack the lens hood, Didn't venture further. Very disappointed with Rolanpro.There is no zero rating so begrudgingly giving the minimum 1 star. Well, the color of the lens cover is fine I guess.

Cut to exact standards, it fits so well. Theirs are harder to put on than Lenscoat; but that's because they're such a good fit. It'll stay in place and simply become a part of the lens. I really like these covers. I have them for 3 of my longer Nikon lenses.

To the people who couldn’t put this on and returned….c’mon it’s not THAT hard lol. Just takes a bit of time and perseverance. Once it’s on it fits great, looks great. Dropping a star for the slight difficulty of installing. Haven’t been out yet with it in so will see how it goes and update review if needed.

Product is as advertised. Sleeves fit nicely and have sewn seams to minimize or prevent fraying. This is based on initial observations.

Like another reviewer has mentioned, there is very little stretch to this product/design. I found it extremely difficult to "slide" the product onto the lens. I like the idea of a rubberized waterproof material, but it causes way too much friction against the rubberized lens barrel to slide the cover on. Also making it very difficult to line up the cutouts for buttons etc. The overall construction of material and stitching seemed good. Disappointing and wouldn't work for me so I returned it.
