If you pay it loud it should last a few hours full blast. I mostly use the usb drive and the sound is good n much better than the radio. The reception depends on the stations and time of day so its hit n miss on that. I have not needed to buy batteries and that will make the radio heavy to walk around with i would just stick to the internal battery and use the provided usb to charge it in the car etc. i live on the coast and i like the weather band functionality and portability of this radio. I give it an 8 out 10 over all. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nice portable radio. *by D***N on April 27, 2024* I'm very happy with this radio. It was easy to use, nice looking with a large lcd screen. I just wanted something I could bring outside on the porch of my apartment to listen to music while I'm lying in my hammock. I found the easiest way to preset channels is to just long press the scan button and the radio will automatically scan, stop at any channel with any strength and assign a P number to it. Then it will go on to the next channel and set it. By the end of the scan you will have around 20 to 30 preset channels. Now you can just hit the +/- P button, listen to each channel and decide if you want to keep it. If not, just long press the delete button and it will be dropped. After listening to each channel, you will probably have only 10 or so presets. Just remember the P number of the ones you kept and liked, then hit the + or - P button to go to each. You can manually scan by hitting the forward/backward buttons to zero in on a station and then manually preset that channel, although this is a little more complicated process, but you can assign your own P number to the channel. You can easily change bands, but I only use the am/fm bands. I did not bother with the weather or SW bands, which I read are a little trickier to use. Nice to have if you use them. The radio is a nice size with a good handle and has a long extendable antenna. Great battery life (4000mAh) that will lasts days of normal use (2 - 4 hours a day) if you don't turn the volume all the way up. It will accept usb drives and tf cards to listen to your own music. Just change the mode and insert drive or card. Then use the number buttons or forward/backward buttons to change songs. The sound quality is good and you can plug in headphones to listen to your music. You can adjust the volume to be very loud, but it will use up the battery quicker. You can also backup the lithium/ion rechargeable battery with 4 D cell batteries if your camping. Also, you can recharge with a large power bank. I got this radio for $30 so its a great buy. ### ⭐ Charging failure! *by C***N on May 20, 2025* Radio works fine but14 months out it won't accept a charge!
