Review: Must have in modern high compression GDI engines! - So bought this for my new Mazda 3 Turbos' first oil change. I was originally going to use Liqui Moly MoS2, due to the OE Mazda oil using a very high Moly PPM (800ish) formula and not having easy access to a similarly formulated oil. After doing some more reading i decided to use Ceratec instead, mostly because it doesn't make the oil look super dark (for warranty purposes, If for some reason i do have a problem with the engin i don't want the dealer saying I just didn't change my oil). So initial results are awesome, the valve noise is pretty much gone. And the engin just feels smoother, and sounds like is not even trying when reving it out. With that success I bought another one for my girlfriends non turbo CX30 when i changed her oil. Her engine has always been just a little noisier than my old non turbo mazda 3, and my new Turbo model. I've used the same oil in both (Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 0w20 or 5w30 in the turbo). It had the normal lifter noise, but it always sounded raspy when accelerating hard, like it was really at the edge when floored. So as a before and after test I changed the oil fist with NO Ceratec, engin sounded happier, ran a little smoother, but basically the same as before, Normal stuff after an oil change. So I added the Ceratec, literally you could hear the lifter noise melt away as it mixed with the oil, I was in my garage so the effect was even more stark. The engine also idled smoother, to the point if you were in the car, you wouldn't know it was on without the engine RPM readout. So i took it for a test drive down the road and stepped on it after getting it up to Temp. The raspiness was completely gone, it sounded like it was happy as a clam reving right up to redline. This wasn't a "i think it might be better" differance, it was a night and day difference, a wow that impressive difference. As for fuel consumption reduction claims, i don't know yet, from what i read you need to dive it 300-400 miles to get a valid result. I only have 150ish on mine and 75 on hers. First impressions were really positive, highly recommend to anyone wanting to keep a car for a really long time. Only downside is the price, this stuff is really expensive... but i look at it like this, $600 over the life if the vehicle if you keep it to 150K miles, with 6k oil change intervals is pretty cheap insurance. compared to an engine rebuild.

**Q: Is this a product that has to be used at every oil change? How does it perform with Mobil 1 EP 5/30?**
A: I use only mobil 1 products. I use this in two deisel engines one dodge one Mercedes, and gasoline Ferrari 360.  No issues at all make them all run quieter and smoother.

**Q: How long should you leave it in your oil before changing the oil?**
A: Sorry for the delay. Cera Tec is going to work in the friction system for 30.000 miles . But you are going to change the oil as always you do. Before use Cera Tec,use a Liqui Moly Valve Clean in one full fuel tank, then change the oil and after use Cera Tec.

**Q: I already used one can but my audi S5 3l takes 6.2l of engine oil. I ordered another can, should I pour it all in? Are there any issues with overfill?**
A: From the product packaging Application: Minimum oil filling of 3 liters [3.17 U.S. QT] is required for optimum product performance… Will treat 5 liters [5.28 U.S QT] of oil [6 % of total oil quantity] Continue to maintain oil change intervals as prescribed.

**Q: How this product will perform with a high mileage engine that is worn and consumes oil? Is there a possibility that oil consumption will be reduced?**
A: That’s not true. There is a differance between high mileage and non high mileage oil. The difference is the additive package. High mileage oils have higher levels of moly and zddp phosphorus and other anti wear chemicals. At least they should. The ones I’ve compared do have higher levels. They also contain seal conditioners. When rubber seals age they can become cracked and brittle. High mileage oil contains conditioners for this. Now how well all of this actually works is up for debate but they do contain different additive packages. The thing that makes an engine oil is the base oil used and the additive package. Additive packages are generally around the same but they do differ by oil brand. Generally you can’t go wrong with Mobil 1, redline, Eneos, Castrol synthetic, royal purple, Quaker state synthetic, Valvoline synthetic, Amazon full synthetic, Napa good synthetic, or basically any synthetic oil. I have a Nissan and I use Eneos 5w30 because it’s a Japanese oil made in Japan for Japanese engines. Can it be used with any engine that requires 5w30? Of course it can. It’s just a personal preference and I know that they use a robust additive package with average or better percentages of all the additives.
