I play with a band and after a two years of gigs the A-Star jingle bits fell off, so I thought that I'd look for another one and ordered a couple of different ones. I had read the reviews for this one and I agree, it does have a different tone. If you tend to hit your tambourine then I'd stick with the A-Star, if you jingle and shake the tambourine then this one might be your favourite. I used both my new A Star and this one at the last gig. They do sound quite different. This one is heavier to hold, and there is no way that I could manage a 42 song set with this, my hand and wrist would hurt. Also, others have commented on the handle being not very ergonomically designed and I agree, it looks like it should be comfortable, but the angle is slightly wrong. As a result it makes your wrist hurt.
