They are very comfortable for her. She is almost 8 years old and the Size 3 Fits well with slight room to grow. And she wears a size 1-2 kids shoe (1 1/2). I'd say you want to get them sharpened out of the box. I did not and It was a noticeable difference in my daughters comfortability on the ice after I did. She is about 1 month into figure skating lessons and almost 3 months of ownership and general use. So I'd guess around 16-20 hours of usage and so far so good.
